Today I finished shipping out the last installment of both of my sock clubs, Art & Sole and Illuminations. This year I made shipping particularly complicated for myself by offering two clubs with 4 color choices each, one with 2 yarns per shipment and an option to ship with Cookie's club on the side. Whew! That was one of my spectacularly bad ideas! So, I was rejoicing that the complications were over with this shipment and next year would be soooo easy with just one yarn choice and one club... when, WHAM! the universe jumped up with a little glitch just to remind me that this year is not yet over... Anyhow, the glitch is resolved, tea has been steeped and drunk and now I am really ready for something good, something yummy, something restorative and comforting. What I really need is a yarn hug!
So I'm going to go stash diving and see if I can't find something that will fit the bill, something with a little cashmere in it, something that will make a nice quick comforting knit - maybe an extra holiday present, or maybe something just for me!
In the meantime, I have to say that looking back on this year's clubs and other endeavors I am really proud to have released 24 club patterns, 10 non-club patterns, 2 book patterns, one charity pattern and one free pattern! That's a lot of patterns! Maybe not quite Anne Hanson, but still, it's the most I've done in a year before. Next year I hope to have even more up my sleeve (or under my trouser leg - heheh).
And now it's time to concentrate on family and friends and the holidays. Tomorrow I'll be winging my way to Southern California to visit with family and celebrate birthdays, then in a few days I'll be back to celebrate here with friends and more family. Somewhere in there I hope to have a minute to make my favorite Christmas cookies - Dutch spice cookies.
I hope you're enjoying time with friends and family too and that you have a little quiet time to savor the season and enjoy your loved ones. I'll leave you with a little view of one of the patterns from October's shipment of the Illuminations club - this is Deco.

Wow, that's a lot of patterns in one year! Very impressive. And your tree is beautiful!
