Incredulously I am sick again! I have the flu again and I've lost my voice again. what a lovely flu season I'm having - LOL. At least I am not quite as incapacitated as I was the first time around. I don't know if this is a different flu or a relapse or what, but I've been sidelined and haven't got much to show for the last week or so.
I have had some energy for spinning. Spinning, unlike knitting, can be completely mindless for me. I was working on the gorgeous red Corriedale that I purchased at SOAR, but when I sampled it with the Ashland Bay merino/silk I didn't like the way the color combination was working. I love the 3-ply and that's the grist of yarn that I want, but the red merino/silk is too frosty and cool toned for the yarn that I am envisioning which is more of a passionate blood red. So I've put the red bobbins on time out while I figure out what to add to the mix to get the red that I want. Maybe I'll get the mojave merino mix or the cranberry merino mix from Ashland Bay.
Meanwhile, this little setback has given me the blues...
They are:
1. 3 different colors of bombyx/cashmere 50/50
2. merino/yak and merino/tussah
3. polwarth in a very loooooooooong color change from one blue to another
4. 2 different colors of merino/silk (I think bombyx)
I have decided to work on number 2 right now. I'm spinning it at laceweight and will ply those two together. I think it will make a gorgeous lace item - I'm already designing a shawl for it in my head.
I am supposed to be on my way down to California to clean out my old house and make my final move to Oregon, but things are on hold until we get better (Mr. Bonnet also has the dreaded flu) so I am in a holding pattern just waiting on my body to decide to kick the flu's tush. I guess that means a lot of spinning time for me - maybe I'll just get that blue done!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Oh, that's rough! Maybe take it even easier this time, and hopefully you'll both be feeling better soon...

Speedy recovery to you both. I like your case of the blues though.
And I vote for the mojave. ; )

I hope you feel better soon, it sucks when you keep getting whacked with the sick-stick.
I agree with you, the silvery cast to the silk blend red is much more dramatic than I might have guessed. I look forward to seeing what you end up swapping it out with. Good luck with your blues!

Feel better, Janel! I've been sick all week too. Sux, huh. Let's hope this is the end of it for the winter. Let's take tons of vitamins and dress warmly and eat our veggies and get lots of sleep, and triumph!
Can't wait to see how your SOAR treasures spin up.

Sorry to hear you are ailing. Know your pain as I have yet to kick the SOAR sick. Call when you get to town so we can get together.

It could be a relapse. Take it easy until you are truly over the ugly flu. Your spinning is lovely, almost makes me want to spin again..........nah, rather knit your gorgeous socks and mittens.
Take care and get you, both you and Mr. Bonnet.

Hi Janel,
I've been worried about you. I hope you've kicked the flu and you're back on the mend. I really miss your Beebonnet Report! I love your sock books and hope to someday see a mitten book. Take care.
