Cookie, Heather, Theresa and I decided to take the evening whale watching excursion in Juneau. We all met down on the docks and were whisked off by motorcoach to see some whales! We got on the boat, where they served us dinner, and then we bolted to the top deck to see the magical sea creatures. The captain took us around an island full of sea lions
At first we only saw a few whale spouts in the distance, but then the captain spotted some whales and we motored over to see them. Heather began singing to the whales asking to see their whaley bodies, and they complied. We saw two adults and several calves. The calves were frolicking around and breaching out of the water. It was very exciting!!
A lot of my pictures turned out like this
But I also got a few shots of the whales
This is the back of a humpback whale and you can see his spout remnants too.
Here's a flipper wave
A good time was had by all!
And the whaley bodies were magnificent, even if I wasn't able to truly capture them on the camera.
