Recently Mr. Bonnet and I took Mr. Bonnet's Grandma, Lady R., to the Bellagio in Las Vegas. It just so happened that it was also Chinese New Year. Here is a small photo essay of our time there...
In the lobby of the Bellagio, you are greeted by this amazing Dale Chihuly ceiling
Everything was decked out for Chinese New Year. This is the scene behind the checkin desk. It's a nice thing to look at as you're waiting in line.
Of course the conservatory was completely decorated with all kinds of impressive stuff. Happy Year of the Pig!
Lady R. enjoyed watching the incredibly spectacular water fountain show that happens every 15 minutes. There are 2 hours worth of different shows set to music before the line-up repeats itself.
The water show is especially pretty at night
Lady R. enjoyed herself playing Texas Hold'em poker. Granny is intrepid! Mr. Bonnet and I contented ourselves with the more prosaic video poker machines.
Mmmm... Lady R. loves coffee! I don't know how she could even hold that cup! It was huge.
I liked this carpet that we saw at Caesar's Palace
And we took a trip to the Venetian, where we admired these stockings.
Lady R. asks "but where are their pants?"
Even the ashtrays are fancy at the Bellagio.
And this guy's job was to go around picking off the dead petals from the flowers with his grabby stick thing.
I wonder why fancy hotels always have a phone in the bathroom? I don't want to have a phone conversation from this particular throne!
Bye bye Bellagio! You were a sweet lady to us!
